Becoming a Community Colleague

What is a Community Colleague?

Bishop's Wellbeing's Community Colleague's are individuals or businesses who want to support the community though providing a service, while getting paid.  

We are looking for confident, empathetic and reliable people to join our team.  Whether you already have an established business, are just starting out or are looking to earn some extra cash, we will have something for you.


These are flexible self-employed roles so you will be able to set your own working hours. All roles can be provided on an ad-hoc or regular basis.

What do I need?

Each role has different criteria for what is required from you as a Community Colleague.

As a minimum you will need to be:

  • Over the age of 18

  • Have the right to work in the UK

  • Be able to provide us with 3 documents with your name and address, 2 from the last 3 months. 

What Bishop's Wellbeing will provide

To fulfil the role of a Community Colleague Bishop's Wellbeing will provide for you, some at a cost, the following: 

  • Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) - £50.40
    (we can set up a payment plan for this)

  • Equality and Diversity Training

  • Dementia Friends Training

  • Safeguarding Training


If you already have a certificate for these that is in date, please provide these in the 'upload documents' in the application form. ​

Bishop's Wellbeing is unable to provide Liability Insurance at this time, however we can assist in finding the most cost effective and appropriate insurance for yourself.
